If you read my post about Dao Xiongs bettas you will know why they are beat up...Fights. he sent me the losers and some poor girls,(i think) they are PK and wont even flare so it is hard to tell if they are boy or girl. 1 died a few minutes after arrival. they are extremely skinny too.

i am conditioning them now and feeding them, but how do i fatten them up faster? when i recieved them you could see the out lines of their bones!!!

dont rush them, as long as they are feeding the weight will go on, i would keep to mix of 70% live to 30% dry a week with 1 day off. fattening up too fast will give them problems. Im sure they are much happier with you which is the important thing.

Im having to do the same with a guppy i bought from the lfs. Looked fine in the shop and got it home and realised it had dropsy, tail rot and god knows what else. Luckily hes better now but hes the same his shape is only there because of his bones which you can see (shudders) Good luck with your guys :)

Well favorite foods of bettas are frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. I would try feeding your bettas those foods to stimulate their appetite.

I posted in your other thread but I don't know if you missed it or not. I know Dao's bettas can be kind of pricey. I was just wondering, if you don't mind, how much you paid for all of these broken fish?

Small frequent feeding tis the answer, bloodworm and grindal or white worm will bulk them up and give them the protiens they need, and of course plenty of water changes to ensure that they don't get fin infections whilst they are recovering.
