Is it normal for upside down cats to have fat bellies?

I purchased the only 3 at the lfs on Wednesday with hopes of getting 2 more next week. This AM when doing the Saturday water change, I found one of them "upside down" but not in a good way -- so now I only have two.

But one of them has a really fat belly. It could be she/he hogged the algae wafer I put in there an hour ago --- not sure as I did not notice what the belly looked like earlier this morning.

I don't want to lose another  The one that died was not fat at all ---actually looked thin.

They can get fat or thin with internal parasites is the belly sunken in.

He appears to be behaving normally and the stomach does not look sunken.

And oh my gosh, Cathy, mine is not nearly as big as the one in your picture! I just checked him a few minutes ago and he still looks fat, but not bloated. Couldn't get a real good look though, because he's in between the back glass and the heater which appears to be the favorite spot for the USD cats.

Which leads me to another question -- USD cats ok with temp at 78F?? Should the tank be warmer than that?
