hi, had tank, bought one of these kit things, left it, water tested ok so got some fish, one molly to start and two danios! except i notice one of the danios is getting really huge! i thought she was pregnant, but seemingly she is just really getting bigger and bigger! any help?

also, level in tank has gone down in a month and a half about one inch, how do i add more h20 without harming fish?

any replies please direct to e.holyday@virgin.net else i wont get them, many thanks in advance xxx

Post it here, read it here. That allows others to benefit from the responses.

You're losing water due to evaporation. It would be best to siphon some out to remove excess food, poop and other toxins, then add water conditioning drops to the tank and fill the tank back up. The drops will safely neutralize chlorine and chloramine. If you keep topping up the tank without ever removing water, the tank will become increasingly polluted.

One of your Dainos may be a Giant Danio, which grows to about 4 inches.

Please say what kind of danio you have.

I can't help if I don't know what species we are discussing.

FYI streetracer
Giant danios (Devario aequipinnatus) get to 15.2cm that is 6" not four.

most likely it is a female that is egg layen but it is not pregnant. :fun:
danios are egg layers and they are also schooling fish that need to be kept in groups of 5 or 6. try to research your fish.
did you actually cycle the tank. even if the water tested ok if it has not cycled it can only get worse.
you need to make regular water changes, clean the gravel and test the water.
