I currently have my fan tails in a tank indoors, running 4 times the filtration. the temp of this tank is 75f (no heater).

I am looking in to a 170 litre "pop up pond and pump"

how do fancy tailed gold fish do in ponds. , i would mesh the top to stop birds pecking. and still do my regular water changes and then in the winter i would bring the pond in the garage.

I would still use a gravel substrate and have a few plants and surface plants.

The pond is under £40 with a pump so its not a huge loss if it is rubbish

any one have an experience with these ponds.

also do you think thats a good idea or just keep them in the tank. Ideally i would like to turn the tank into a heavily planted BN plec tank thats why i am looking at these ponds

cheers for any comments or opinions or ideas

here is a link to the pond in question

POND

hi
these are ok for fantails but only through the summer and early autumn. i have heard too that they can collapse so be really careful with them. i would love one of these too, so i'm hoping someone has one. :)

I am currently monitereing the spot the pond will be in for temperature to see what it is like then i will prob order the 160 litre one in a week or so
