Fans For Light Hood

Can you use PC cooling fans in an aquarium hood? “I’m sure I’ve read it somewhere, If so how do you power them?

Am i missing some thing here. Just my t5 lights are cool enough to touch even when they have been on for 8 hours. Why do so many people need fans ??

fluoresent lights go hot as hell though if you had left them on for 8 hours

Really, may be there is some thing wrong with mine then.

I have got the Arcadia I-Bar Twin Light with 2 x Arcadia T5 Plant Pro Lamp

Can anyone advise me why mine dont get mega hot, you could hold the tubes for about 10secs before you would want to draw your hand away.

cheers for that I'll give myself a good read,

with heat or no heat! all depends on how enclosed your unit is, if you already have good air circulation then your tubes will not get that hot!
