Anyone got an idea on the best natural looking fake plants, lots of them look naff.
main reason being I have tin foil barbs and they only dont eat onion plants, which dont seem to last anyway.
tried lots of other plants.
I could do with some fake plants to make ite look better and give some cover for fish.
dont mind paying a little more if they are nice.

any idea's welcome.

Hi, I have a lot of these hanging around in my tanks and they look good!

Silk plants are apparently the best, and Exo Terra do make good ones.

Yep these are good and well used,my cories hide eggs in them and they provide shade also :good:

I've had fake, but must admit live does look better if they can be kept alive

Has mentioned java fern & anubias :good:

Agreed on silk plants. I have them in with my bristlenose because she munches her way through live plants like nobody's business.

Silk plants definitely look better than the solid plastic. I got mine from ebay, a pack of 5 for about £10 and a pack of three for £6 or so. They don't look amazingly natural but if you group enough together to hide the stem parts they look fine IMHO.

Thanks for replies so far , I have tried java fern & anubias and they munched them sadly.
hmm Exo Terra will take a look but no pennies on ebay so anyone seen them anywhere else.
arnt they for a Vivarium though. the first lot shown.

I got mine cheap compared to ebay, cost me £2.99 each for the large ones, pity they've sold out...

Meant to add-yes they are designed for vivariums,i've had mine in the tank for over a year with no probs :good:

are they ok as doesnt mention ok for tropical aquarium anywhere .
do they just lay on bottom or are they weighted and go upright in the water?
they show small , med or large but no actual size , what are we talking.
.

Try seapets or amazon sell them cheaper than ebay.

They have a sucker at the top and will stick to the side of your tank to where you want it,they can be turned around to shade the top of the tank or hang down the glass. They vary between 8-14 inches long depending what type.

I'm just hunting out a pic i have in my tank ....here's one that show them angling upwards.
