Quick question for experienced fahaka owners - is a 72x18x18 (100 gallon long) going to be enough room in the long run for a fahaka? Hes about 5" at the moment. Had my 4x2x2 earmarked for him but just trying to re-jig furniture and tanks and allsorts, and have seen one of these advertised locally fairly cheaply - it would give me a bit more room if I could use this tank instead, but not sure that the reduced width is going to work in the longer term. cheers in advance...

4x2x2 will be better in the long run. They can grow to 18inches in length, (I've seen at least one that size myself) and with that it'd probably be better waiting and getting the bigger tank. I've got mine in a 5x2x2 and I wish I'd gone 5x2.5x2 to be honest.

cheers for the quick reply, i thought this might be the case. unfortunately the 30" wide tank i was promised earlier in the year never materialised :(

the fahaka having enough space has got to take priority over us having more room in the lounge really i guess :S just have to break that news to she-who-must-be-obeyed ;)
