I have a tall tank with a 20 Watt light. The tank is 40g and 22 inches high. The light is 24 inches on a 36 inch hood.

Is there a plant that won't get torn up by my sev, and can exist in this low of light? Or should I just stick with driftwood and plastic plants?

Edit: Another thing, I have PF sand in it. Check my profile for what's in the tank.

If the Cichlid is pulling up plants, they have a habit of doing that, try Anubias species or Jave Fern. Both should be attached to rocks or wood, not planted, and both will tolerate low light.

Even plants that will live under such conditions won't grow though.
