Morning all, was looking at external heaters now my eheim is up and running but unsure what is still available. No one seems to have Hydor in stock and I'm just plain confused as to rena smart filters.

Tank is 200 l and I just want minimum clutter that isn't decor in there.

Also happy with size of heater for tank, just info on types/brand.

Thanks all
Dave

Hydor ETH inlines are the only external heater brand found in the UK, excluding those in the thermo filters

There are currently 4 Hydor inline heaters on ebay and also both 200W and 300W here

Not sure what they are like but i've recently seen these too as an alternative HERE

looks good but I have not heard of them before & £20 seems a bit too cheap.

If its too good to be true, it usualy is.

I run a Hydor 200 external with my Eheim and love it. After my research I decided it was the only way to go (for me) because I like to hold open the option for using heat and mild salt if I ever needed to treat white spot -- the sensors in the eheim thermo units will fail if salt gets on them.

Of course, the inline heaters spliced into the hose are a little more clumsy to work with when maintenance time comes, but I've learned how to physically just lift off my entire hose/heater/quickrelease mess in one fell move and gently carry it over to a tub area where I can perform the hose cleanouts while keeping track of which hose section is which as I do it (amazing how much cleaning out the hose insides will keep your flow rate up to snuff!)

~~waterdrop~~ :D

I run a 300 on a Tatratec external,,,, love it,,, even flow of warm water throughout the tank avoiding any cool spots,,,
no one is stocking them just now as they are not releasing anymore as there is an issue with the seals, apparently.....
