External Filters

ok im seriously considering getting the tetratec ex 700,now my question concerns the spray bar,has it got to go above the water line,if it has then that would be a problem,or are ther external filters that work in a different way,one final question how long are the spray bars,reason for the questions are because my tank has a middle support brace,which is slightly above the water line,hence the question about spray bar being above water,as always any help much appreciated

No, they don't have to go above the water. You can also angle them, consider pointing them slightly up from horizontal if aeration is a worry.

can they be used in Marine setups?
I was trying to choose between Tetratec Ex or Eheim classic and the site I checked said classic is for FW/Marine and never commented what tetratec can be used on!!
as it does look exceptionally good
