I've been on the hunt for a (preferably cheap second hand) external filter for ages but I can't find one that will fit inside my cabinet. I have the new style Rio 180 cabinet with the open shelf in the middle, making the hidden cupboards very narrow.
Was wondering if anyone else has this cabinet and has managed to find an external that fits in it comfortably. I'm not really bothered about what make it is, I just want extra filtration. I haven't decided whether or not to remove the internal one yet.
The available space available is no more than 22cm wide and 29cm deep, preferably smaller as this would be a tight squeeze. Height not so much an issue as I can remove the middle shelf if need be.

Have you looked at Eheim's classic range? Some of those are quite narrow.
it never seems to be these ones that are going dirt cheap though, cos everyone wants them!
