Hi All.

I have a Fluval Roma 125 tank and I've got a Fluval 206 filter to setup to replace the U3 internal.

Does this tank have a part you cut out so the pipes can fit? I have read that some Roma 125 tanks do but I can't see the cut out part on mine..

Here's a picture

Or do I have to modify the lid?

Thanks,
Paul

By the look of it you will have to modify the lid

I think the thin bit may snap out.

There's no thin bit on my tank :/

I had a response back from Fluval & they also said I have to cut the lid.

Its a bit stupid that new Fluval Roma's don't support external filters.

Not quite. The Fluval roma 240 does support external filter. The filter pipes go from under the tank trough 2 holes in the glass base.My tank is one of those.
I also have a eheim 2215 in my ROMA but i cheated on that one, i never used the lid of the tank i replaced my lighting with a over the tank luminaire on day one. so the tank always stays open.
Its it's actually very nice no pipes running around, the main problem with that system is that they left the inflow and outflow on the same side so it causes major flow problems.
