Hi,

I currently have a Fluval 3000 for my 30"x12"x15 tank. I would like to get an external filter...can anybody recommend one?

Do external filters have anything big like the size of my internal filter that has to go inside the tank? As thats the main reason I want rid of the internal one...it's big and ugly.

I have a heavily planted tank and injecting CO2, so I don't want anything that will agitate the surface.

Thanks,
Sam

For the price the fluval 204 or 304 are sound.(cheep as chips at pets at home)
The 204 would do you fine (go to the 304 or 404 if larger tanks are on the horizon)
204 is quoted for up to 200L at a pump output of 680L/h and filter circulation of 420L/h
304- 300L- 1000L/h - 710L/h
404- 400L - 1300L/h - 850L/h
they are easy to set up and ultra quiet in use.

Heres a link for the eheim filters, never heard a bad report on there either

hope this helps
