I have a couple of plants that are just using the water column. They were placed on a piece of driftwood. The roots are starting to grow quite lengthy and are somewhat unsightly.

Not a big deal but trying to find out if someone can just manipulate them around the driftwood so as to hide them better or is it okay to snip them off at sometime?

Not sure if snipping the roots would hurt but doubt.

Ya, you could probably rearrange the roots to be behind the rock or wood on which they are mounted. Personally I have mounted anubias and java fern and rather like the look of the roots wrapping around but that is just my preference.

I have anubias and Java fern that I always trim the roots off. It's fine on those 2. Their roots are only to anchor themselves.
