My lovely tabby is almost ready to have her kittens! I will be selling some at £20 and the father is a black persian, so they will be nice kittens i hope :) if anyone is interested let me know. I will keep your details for when they are ready to leave there mum

my cat had them once..she got nocked over 3 days later and we had to handfeed all 11 kittens!good luck

I love kittens... When I went with my nan to help her choose a kitten, the woman we got them from had about 6 six week olds and 3 three week olds.... Awww....

11 Kittens from one cat!!!!! I thought the average was 4?

The average for all the cats I've ever had was always either four or six kittens at a time... strangely they never had any other number....

11 is extremely unsual - did the all survive ?! Especially being hand fed from such a very young age, I would have though most of them would have died :(

I thought six was the most because thats how many teats the cat has, anymore and they couldn't all feed at the same time. I hope mine don't have more than 6!

No, "unfortunately" they can indeed have many more kittens than 6  it's quite difficult for the mom to handle and very straining, so make sure you feed her lots and keep an extra amount of water handy as she'll be very thirsty. Should that happen, speak to your local vet for advice. Fingers crossed she only has a few though :) Let us know how it goes....

:sly: 11?....are you sure?......the record is actually 19 so I guess it could be true.....or a type error...

The Largest Pet Litter

On 7th August, 1970, a four year old Burmese called Tarawood Antigone, who was owned by Valerie Gane of Oxfordshire, UK, gave birth to nineteen kittens. The surviving fifteen kittens consisted of 1 female & 14 males.

from http://www.cat-world.com.au/CatRecords.htm ......anyway I think Welsh Woman simply wants to know if anyone wants to buy one rather than if we all believe 'germanshepherdlver's story so I'll answer by saying NO but they do sound lovely and I hope they all find safe homes!

hi , i am looking for a persian so if icould get a pic of the kittens when born i would love one ! got two cats already .

Well there is no garanty that they will be persian, a good chance though, I will post a pic up as soon as they arrive. Then a few weeks after that so you can see what they turn out to be. Never can tell if a kitten is a persian at birth lol. But the father was a weird looking persian, all black except for a light brown/ginger tip on his tail, looks like someone dipped it in paint lol

I hope you find homes for them, so they don't end up in the pound like so many other homeless kittens do :( Please encourage whoever adopts the kittens to get them spayed/neutured when they are old enough! ;)
