Exodons.

exodons should be kept in a minimum group of 10.
so if you are going to put any in your 20g, 10 would be the number.
you will need to bump up your filtration and maintenece a bit in order to keep everything stable, but it is absolutely possible.

ok awesome, i've been looking at these fish for a while now, they look like a pretty intresting species to keep. Even though i was going to do a community tank. gah these species only tanks alwas get me! My filteration is already pretty high, anyother advice. is 10 the max of what i should put in there because i read somewhere else that they do bes in 15+ :/, idk.

i would not suggest overdoing it too much. you will need to feed them a lot to keep the sggression down, and that can lead to problems in smaller tanks.
i would say, get 10 and see what happens.

the aggression spreads out the larger the group is. when i had around 200 of them in the same tank, it was awesome. lol. but this isnt really an option in a 20g tank.

unfortunately, no. generally they do not breed in captive.
there are stories and claims of a handful of breeding cases, but i have yet to find any hard evidence beyond someone saying it happened.

or just feel free to ask. :good:

they do fine in both planted, and bare tanks. i have mine in both, as well as a pond. i do not notice too much of a difference in behavior based on the scape, however plants and decor will allow for hiding places for the smaller ones that will inevitably get picked on in your tank.
