my flow on the ex700 is slow can any1 tell my why this is? ive look on youtube n the1 on there is very fast

do i need to cut the hoses to the right size so it comes out fast or should it just come out fast anyway?

NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

You should have the hoses at the length that is recommended by the manufacturer and should have it the right distance below the water level, also as recommended by the manufacturer. Any attempt to place the filter body too high compared to the tank water level can lead to cavitation and poor performance by the impeller. I have had troubles caused by my hoses kinking when I left more hose than recommended on my Rena filter and assume the same would apply to your Tetra-tec.

no probs did nt no tht as i gt the filter with the tank of ebay

try rinsing the media ( in old tank water) maybe its just blocked with dirt- are the taps open fully?

taps r open to the max bt is just runny slow, the pips tht come with r long do i need to cut them ?

I've cut the pipes down on mine so they are just long enough to get where they need to go (and a little more so i can unclip the top part of the filter and place it on the floor)

If the pipes are dirty clean them out, if the spray bar is dirty clean it out, rinse the media through with tank water, and check the strainer isnt blocked with debris

done it nw its fast i cleaned the lot n cut the pipes dwn

Easy peasy lemon squeezy , it's good to see the ripple on the surface , :good:

i have the ex700 thy r poo

its been setup in my tank 4 4weeks n it still looks murky

I just cleanded my EX700 this morning , full of sand , poo and about a million snails and a big lump of mud at the bottom, all rinsed and replaced the white filter at the top, the flow is still fine, I don't want my fish in a washing machine.......lol
What substrate is in your tank, do you have plants , how many fish etc?
I had trouble getting the surface flow right , i.e. the position of the spraybar , I now have it at the back of the tank facing forward at 70degree angle as suggested by another member of this forum , is your intake on the same side of the tank as the spraybar?

i have an ex700, and never had any issues when it ran on its own on the betta tank, and now it runs on the 260l alongside my ex1200, and it certainly perked up the water, i can definately tell its clearer.

would it be better to put a internal filter in my tank with the ex700

ive got mine the same way you have got yours, been running for about 4week with fish but still murky. got told to do a water change now its cleaning up, but how long dos it take for the ex700 to do its jobs were the tank is clear n no crap is in the tank? my intake is on full as well as my spray bar

even though the filter is sufficient for your tank, i'd say most of the fish are big waste producers.

you could do with a second internal/external filter or a larger external imo

Just as an experiment why don't you add a small internal stuffed with filter wool , if by cloudy you mean debris , I have done this after big changes and sand cleaning etc, be sure to keep a small piece of sponge at the top of the filter to stop the filter wool going into the impellor......(OOPS)...
Only other thing is when I cleaned the external for the first time I didn't allign the baskets properly (DOH!) , then another thing was making sure all the baskets were pushed down tight and everything flushed... I'm sure your filter is fine, I have had no bother with mine and the water is much cleaner with it :good:
