21 gals......

4 cory julii....already in.....

want 5/6 bumble bee cory (no comments on the brackish issue, this is a stock thread)

and want 2/4 dwarf gourami.....

possible redfin black shark......emphasis on the possible....

so what we reckon guys?

The shark needs something bigger.

Whether or not the fish will do well in the the tank IS a stocking issue.

I have a redfinned black shark - lovely fish but grows very quickly and is a real bully - you need lots of fish in the tank so the shark is not constantly picking on the same fish - have a look at paradise fish - light blue with orange stripes - very nice looking fish if you want something different

Labeo Biocolor grows to six inches and is not suitable for a 20 gallon tank

sorry cant help with the rest

Depends on the individual, mines a pussy cat.

regardless, too big for 21 gallon...

bumble bee cories? you mean bumble bee gobies i assume? they stay tiny so if you don't want to discuss the brackish issue, why do you need to ask?

4 dwarf gouramis = no
2 = maybe no (assuming they are both males, which is most likely one will terrorize the other more times than not)
1 = yes

i have heard that honey gouramis are more docile with each other

i'm talking about stocking levels.....

i said no to 4 gouramis...that is way too small and they WILL attack each other...male dwarf gouramis are known to be extremly aggressive with each other (and females are hard to come by sometimes)...that is why 2 max would work, and even then you may have to return the 1 that is getting beat up...

and i know you are talking about stocking levels...the gobies stay less than an inch and produce little waste, so that's why i was wondering why you were asking...if you have seen them in the store you'll no what i mean - there is no way they could cause your tank to be overstocked

A trio of dwarf gouramis should work - assuming that 1 is male and 2 are female. Scarcity of females is not the norm everywhere- all the 3 lfs in my town sell them and IMO the females are beautiful creatures.

you could get a bunch of colorful livebreaders lke endlers and such that would look cool with a bunch of live plants that would be sweet

Sylvia may correct on this, but I think 21 is a little on the small size for Honey's as they like a big surface area. Although they are smaller than the dwarves, you need more space for them.

How about a couple of sparkling gouramis?

update!!

jsut bought two dwarf neon gourami..mmmmm!!!

and four baloon mollies, two male, two female...

they are now in with my four (soon to be three i think) cory julii....

so add to this the bumble bee gobie when i can get them....

how will i be doing in stock levels??

can i get more?

Not really - you've got enough now for 21 gallons, although a lot depends on filtration and general upkeep of the tank. If you are heavily filtered and do regular water changes then you can get a couple more fish.
