I'm looking at options beyond Fluval / Juwel for a 48 inch tank with cabinet here in the UK and these guys just hit my radar:

http://www.aquariums.ltd.uk/

Anyone dealt with them in the past? If you have one of their tanks how do you rate it?

superb quality and service, i havent dealt with them, however they sponsor UKAPS and few people on there have dealt with them.

there custom tanks are dear compared to ac aquatics and nd aquatics

Aquariums ltd quote
To manufacture & supply aquarium 28"long x 15"high x 15"wide, produced in 6mm clear glass, polished all round £152.29
To manufacture & supply closed aquarium hood to suit above, produced from18mm laminated boards with a bonded pvc edging £70.00
To manufacture & supply aquarium 28"long x 17"high x 14"wide, produced in6mm clear glass, polished all round £153.90
Delivery £35.00

nd aquatics
28x15x15 £115
10mm glass
Polished Edges
4 x holes
1 weir

28x17x14 sump £42

Black hood £35

Delivery £20

the glass in the main tank on the nd tank is 10mm instead of the 6mm that aquariums ltd quoted for. The nd aquatics quote also includes 4x hols to be drilled into the tank and a weir added to the corner.

My case is not helped by wanting bow-fronted glass. They and Seabray both want a £200 surcharge because they don't keep the model mould. And Seabray only do a specific curvature of bow-fronted glass below which they require a specific cabinet (which we don't like).

I am thus back to looking at off-the-shelf options. Fluval Vicenza 260 is looking likely with Cleair Yukon as an possibility.

After having a bow fronted aquarium i wouldnt go back. The curvature distorts the picture slightly, it is hard to photograph, harder to clean IMO and after living with it for a while i dont think they are as attractive as a flat-faced aquarium.

Not worth the extra cost.
