What's the common name, and, Are they brackish?

images

Just saw them in my new fish book, If I come across them It would help to know some info  That is, if I ever find them
Also, are desert gobies brackish? I think they are more common :) I'm trying to get some cool oddballs for my regular fish community, the only oddball it has is my badis!

The new family name being used for these fish is Awaous, the one in your picture looks more like Awaous strigatus commonly known as the Striated river goby. This is a pure freshwater goby which grows to about 4 inches. I have seen these in a few shops recently so they are definately in the trade and were a reasonable price so i'm guessing they are not too rare
