My betta loves his guppy fry. It may sound cruel, but at least they die for a purpose....
Oh, great, now I feel cruel...

I would feed them to bigger fish, as others said. At least they're serving as food and not dying with no purpose. If you are getting alot of them and/or have a lot of culls you could sell them or something as feeders.

I don't have the chemicals needed to euthanize them so what I usaly do is flush them it sounds kinda cold and I don't like doing it
I do not have an issue with people having to euthanize fish, I am not however a fan of just flushing them.

Here's a more humane way.

Clove Oil (contains eugenol)
Clove oil is a sedative which at high doses, can be used to euthanase small fish. Unlike veterinary anaesthetics, clove oil is readily available from most chemists. Around 400 mg of clove oil per litre of aquarium water is sufficient to cause death in exposed fish. The clove oil should be mixed with a little warm water first before adding it to the water and fish slowly. Do not add all at once as fish get excited - add the clove oil mix over a 5 minute period.
When exposed to clove oil at this concentration fish quickly lose consciousness, stop breathing and die from hypoxia. Please note that the concentration of the solution must be appropriate and the fish must remain in the solution for at least 10 minutes.
Studies have found clove oil to be similar to the anaesthetics MS-222 and Benzocaine hydrochloride.

CLOVE OIL 100% NATURAL PURE UNDILUTED UNCUT ESSENTIAL OIL/ mould control- 100ML

No disrespect intended.

To clarify;

flushing is not an acceptable form of euthanasia.

All fishkeepers should keep a bottle of clove oil available for emergencies. It is far better than letting a fish suffer, and is generally accepted by most vets and animal experts as being the most humane method.

As these threads tend to become rather emotive, and it's from over a year ago, I'm going to lock it.

The information is here for people to read and make their own decisions on, and I don't think it needs any further comment at this point.
