I have a two gallon bow front tank, that i know is not suitable for anything but shrimp, so, i want to make it a ghost shrimp tank probably, because those are the only shrimp i can afford :( So, anyways, what all should i do? Add a lot of plants? A handful? What should feed them? How often should i feed them? Will they breed? Thanks!

Have you considered red cherry shrimp they are relatively cheap and add a little more colour. I would add lots of plants yes. Shrimp like to graze on and hide in them. You can feed them speciality shrimp food. But they will b quite happy eating various fish foods ie flake, algea wafers etc. Just take care not to over feed, as shrimp are very susceptible to water conditions.

Do you know what sort of grade you've got?

Good luck with them and don't forget to get some pictures up as well.

youll find them very rewarding, CRS are absolutely gorgeous . i have always wanted some but im not gonna pay 5.99 for a shrimp that will go unnoticed a lot and might get eaten by my fish, and that is TINY, if i were to get a shrimp i wouldnt only get one. and if i got more than one of that shrimp i would be paying 10 dollars for 2 RCS that arent even a high grade

I got a few Red cherries for another tank, if i get any babies from them would you like some? I'd send them to you for the cost of shipping. That way I could test out shipping them

I'll swing by the post office and see how much all the stuff would cost. Shouldn't be too much though I'm thinking!

Okay, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that shipping is not going to be alot

It depends on what size box i can get them in. If i can get them in a small one, it will cost $6, otherwise, it will be $11

Update: I just noticed that one of two females is berried! So, hopefully we'll get a good batch from that and I'll throw a few your way!

Hi, Any update on the shrimp tank progress? :hyper:

They're doing great! They're shy little buggers, but I've noticed that the two females are berried! They're not very red, but I read that putting them on black substrate will intensify their colors, so, I ordered some with my leftover Amazon xmas money! (... all of my $75 amazon gift card but $15 went to fish.... got 3 dividers, two kritter keeper things, some black sand, and another of the betta leaf things)
