escaping snail!!!!!!

this morning came down to stairs to find our Golden apple snail on the floor!!!!!!!!! do not know how it escaped!!!
maybe it lifted the flaps in the lid spose we'll never know!!

put it back in the tank.. seems to be ok

It probably just climbed up the glass and kept going right out of the tank. Apple snails are rather large so it could probably shove open the hatch without any real problems. Maybe you should weigh the top down.

Mine are so huge they won't fit thru the lid flap! I have to take the entire lid off.

I remeber once the cover to my filter kept rattling and I just figured it was bumping into the knob on top. Then I did a water change and noticed my snail was missing. I found him inside the filter, it reminded me of Finding Nemo.
