Hi guys,
Looking for some advice. Personal advice not internet lookups if poss. I wish to keep some clownfish (boring I know) anyway, on research I've descovered that the most accepted anemone for a majority of clownfish is Entacmaea quadricolor commonly known as a bubble tip. I wish also to have some other soft corals in there and do a little bit of aquascaping amongst the living rock column but it seeme that the anemone will sting and eradicate everything it comes in contact with.
Is it possible to locate this anemone at one end of the tank and keep other organisms a safe distance away or will it wonder around. ( Could the membership please advise me as to what will co-habitate with the clownfish and anemone to include softies and some critters. Any advice will be appreciated.
Regards
Colin.

E Quadricolor is definitely one of the best anemones to keep in the home reef aquarium. Its captive survivability rate is high and it regulary splits in healthy systems. A friend of mine bought one a few months ago and now has 3 of them. As you mentioned BigC, most clowns will host in them, even the picky ocellaris. As far as locating the anemone goes, the best way to do it is to add the anemone first and allow it to pick the spot it likes. It'll walk around the tank till it finds a lighting/flow combination that it likes. This process typically takes only a few days. Once anchored, the nem will likely stay put unless you drastically change lighting/flow. Then your only difficulty is containing the offspring. Luckily they can bring a good price :)

Good answer Ski... Let the anemone choose then aquascape around it.
Thanks again

Colin
