Well well well. So much for all the spiel coming from the Aussie press. :hyper:

A good performance by England who could have scored far more.

So much for everyone writing us off. And with the jocks facing the pumas, I can't help but feel that (once again) we will get the furthest out of the home nations.

I must admit I find myself cheering on France tonight so we can see a Northern Hemisphere team in the Final.

But ultimately I don't care who we play next, the most important thing is that we beat the Wallabies!

:D

Yeh, not really into Rugby in a big way, but i did watch the game in the pub with my son and my dad, good atmosphere

i hope those Aussie's are choking on their Fosters or XXXX or whatever their drinking tonight, even if we get beat or even hamered by France or more likely New Zealand, we beat the Wallabies, and thats always special

That was sweet!

I wonder how much that bigoted tw#t John O`Neil hates us now?

Dave.

wooo i didnt get to see it but i did keep popping back and from to a tv while at work to keep an eye on it :)

it was fantastic, i think i may just have a few choice words for my aussie buddies when i go into work on monday :)

sorry, not choking on my beer......not too worried really, as the aussies routinely flog you poms in all manner of sports, we can let you have one every now and then!!!!! (otherwise you'll end up sulking and not wanting to play us at all...... :shifty: :fun: :p ;)
just kidding.....

An England-France Semi Final. So much for the complete domination of the Southern Hemisphere teams.

I must admit though, it will take some effort for anyone to beat South Africa, even though the chokers and the Wannabes have gone home.

Here's to Fiji today, and an England-Argentina final!

That was the best gritty, determined and focused England performance for ages. What a match. I was expecting the Aussies to scalp England. The game was a joy to watch. Only frequent trips to the beer cabinet (first 60mins) drew me away from the action.
Just imagine if Jonny had kicked a perfect game....what an impressive scoreline that would have read.

I dont know a great deal about Rugby, my fave sports are Footy and US Football.

But peeps in the pub were telling me about the "scrum" especially towards the end when a lot of the time the Aussie scrums were just callapsing.

I was shouting at the TV in the pub.... "BOOK THEM FOR TIME WASTING", but then it was pointed out to me...

1. they were losing, so were not wasting time

2. the clock keeps running and collapsed scrums dont count for stoppage time (according the pub peeps)

3. some guy just told me that the Aussie were knackered hence the scrums collapsing LOL

not sure on the validity of points 2&3 above?

I am sure of the validity and evidence established that we are still in and Australia are OUT :p

Point 3 is slightly wrong.

The Aussies cannot scrummage, never have been able to. The problem is that the scrum is a dark area with all sorts of things going on and most refs have never played in the front row so aren't entirely sure what is happening. In the 2003 final the English props had to hold up the aussie props as every time the aussies collapsed the scrum the incompetent ref pinged us.

That poor old blubbery front row had no chance against sheridan and vickery (remembering that sheri benches well over 250kg).
