I am getting some Endlers tomorrow. Are they as prolific breeders as guppies? I have a heavily planted 40 litre tank to keep them in and I was hoping to get a couple of Sparkling gourami as well. :fun:

Yes, pretty much. Though I do not believe they have quite the amount of fry Guppies do. I assume you are getting true Endler females, not Guppies? Because you don't really want to cross the two species...most people want to keep the Endler strain as pure as possible. :)

Lovely fish. My LFS has just got some in quarantine, £7.50 for two females and one male. Gonna have to reserve a dozen or so :D

I adore Endlers. Can be hard to find in some places. Wonderful personalities. I only have 3 males currently, not yet full adults. They're in my small community tank. I believe they breed very readily and have been known to come on to my harlequins (yes I really must find some females for them. ). I find them far nicer then the guppies and somewhat more intelligent too. Their markings vary so greatly from one to another. One of my males has a big streak of beautiful pink next to blue on his sides where another has a large patch of black and green. I love 'em. :D
Hugs,
P.

The females with them are smaller than guppy females, silver coloured. The lfs says they are true Endlers so I hope they are. I don't have any guppies, I have set this tank up especially for Endlers because I think they are lovely..

Thats the same as the females my LFS has, so hopefully they are telling the truth, I trust my LFS 99.9%
