i want to make my peppered cory spawn. i know that a cooler water change and keeping the heater off for the night might encourage them. i want to know if i turn off the heater for the night will my tiger barbs and tetras be affected
any help will be appreciated
thanks :good:

i would put them in a tank of there own.
then...
do a cool water change.
low water level.
and do when a strom is aproaching.
i'm hoping 2 breed some soon.
first go at breeding.
of caurse i've read tonnes and tonnes on this.
gd luck

david :D :D

apparently feeding them live food such as bloodworm gets them in the mood :hey: :)

1. Put them into their own cycled tank.
2. Skip a weekly water change.
3. Condition with high protein food- live is best but frozen will work also.
3. When a storm is approaching do a big water change. Using cooler water helps.
4. After spawning either remove the parents or else pull the eggs to a smaller hatching tank. Use methyblu with the eggs to prevent fungus- remove it using carbon when you see wiiglers.

i was under the impresion that corys don't eat there young?

they will eat the eggs faster then they lay them if kept in the same tank or the eggs are not removed after spawning.. so the eggs won't get a chance at hatching.. and yes, corys do alright with their fry.. eggs.. well that is another story.

oooohhhhhhhhh
thanks.
i was going 2 keep the peppereds in after, but not now.
