In the loft I have 2 empty tanks. 1 of which I want to set up but am not sure what to do with it?
I have kept a nano/pico marine tank before, as well as having freshwater too so have experience.
The tanks:
1. 28 litre tank (Probably the more likey to be used due to places it can go at the Moment)
My initial idea was for a freshwater tank in order to keep a male siamese fighter. I would also have a small shoal of white cloud mountain minnows and cherry shrimp( allowing these to breed ). The tank would contain live plants.
Another idea was to have some sort of breeding tank for guppies but realise the tank is pretty small so probably not the best idea?
I have also thought of re setting up the tank as a pico saltwater as a FOWLR with no skimmer. I would like a clown with some sort of goby, blood shrimp, emerald crab and a CUC.
2. 63 litre tank. This does not have a hood at the minute and the mrs would not be happy with condensation so this would need to be addressed. (where would i start looking for a replacement hood that isnt ebay? I would like a brand new one?)
My main idea for this tank would be a nano SW, again as a FOWLR and no skimmer??. I would like a small selection of fish for this tank from the following: 1/2 clowns (black or orange), 1 royal gramma, maybe 3 small damsels, a goby (maybe as a symbiotic), 1 sixline wrasse. I know i could not keep all of these so suggestions of which combination please?
My next idea would be a small community tank FW including a small selection of shoaling tetra fish and live bearers(either guppy or platy) cherry shrimps.
For either tank I would possibly like to set it for breeding something but not necessarily livebearers either SW or FW so any suggestions for this would also be welcomed.
If possible I would set both up and use them for my intitial ideas for both.
All suggestions and ideas very welcome.
