Firstly, I'm not sure I'm posting this in the correct forum as I'm not sure that Empire Gudgeons come under 'Cyprinids, Characins and Atherinids' so apologies if this is a poorly directed post.

Anyway, I spotted these at a lfs and they are selling 'pairs only' for £35. Is this a reasonable price?

I've done some reading and they seem to be a good community fish, but some articles suggest brackish water. The articles dont seem to conclude if this is a requirement, or just of the fish live in both fresh & brackish. Anyone know?

Empire Gudgeon overview.

Freshwater. As for the price, they were seen in the US for $6.50 recently, you do the math.

Hint: Small Empire Gudgeons are used as feeder fish in Australia.

Much cheaper in the US then. I'm wondering if they are a rarer commodity in the UK, hence the price.

Probably an abundance in Oz, hence being used as a feeder fish, but maybe the supply chain to the Uk is limited and therefore costly. Just guesses!

Anyone else seen these for sale in the UK?
