Emperor Tetra

I brought 6 x Emperor Tetra a few weeks ago. When I got them home I noticed that their fins were spilt. I guess due to them being netted. The fins don't seem to want to grow back. Its only affects them cosmetically. Any advice?

I would keep a good eye on water quality.. if thats good they will grow back.

Other things that can halp are increasing your water conditioner as per instructions on the bottle e.g. I use Nutrafin Aqua plus water conditioner. Normal dose is 10mls per 70litres.. for stressed/injured fish its 10ml per 35 litres.

Also some nice food will help.. some fresh or forzen food should build them up and hurry them back to their previous glory!

ps. I'm assuming that they arent being fin nipped etc as they were introduced into an established tank. I'm sure you would have mentioned them being chased a lot.

They had the split fins before I put them in the tank, I am sure it is from them getting netted.
