I just added an Emperor 400 to my 55 which used to only have an Aquaclear 300. The tank is alot clearer but the filter is very loud and makes alot of bibblues. The noise doesnt bother me but the bubbles do. They make the tank look clooudy. Is there anything i could do about it??

I agree. I keep my water all the way to the top and don't hear a sound and there's no bubbles whatsoever. You'll like the Emperor a lot better than an Aquaclear.

mine is all the way up . its even touching the glass hood.. It is still loud and still makes alot of bubbles. Im thinking of returning it and getting an Aquaclear 500. I have 1 aquaclear 300 , 1 200, 1 150, and 1 Mini all in the same room and there was no noise or bubbles..

That's what I would do then. Not sure why yours is like that but if it's not what you are happy with, I would take it back if possible. As far as noise goes, AC's don't make any noise either and you'll probably like it better as far as that aspect of it.

I've got a Penguin, not an Emperor, but it seems strange that it's loud.

It could be that you just got a defective unit.

in the past couple days it has gotten alot quieter and it has been throwing less water around, maybe it just had to be broken in

Sorry I forgot to ask how long you have had it.
Mine took a month to settle down and now after 6 months sometimes
I gotta check if its on full flow or not.

Mine is in a plant tank and it does not drop the co2 at all as long as
I keep the tank completly full of water.
