I can only descibe with what has just happend a "nitrate Spike" just in flash two fish suddenly went mental, and died almost instantly, i managed to get my pair of black percs out and two yellow gobies.. now i m worried for my cleaner shrimp, and a pair of reb blood shrimp, and and other nice stuff and corels, i dunno wot to do, im just sitting here helpless.. im most concernd with the entire setup. do i do a water change with r/o water, or just use plain tap water and saltitfy it up, and hope that, that solves it.. with having other stuff in the water to blnce it out. im petreified of losing it all, already spent 2 grand, i`d die if lost all of it..

Can anyone help.. or am just panaking over nothing?? any help, Good and Fast would be very nice... thx.. guys

Darren

I'd do a good sized water change with RO not tap ( you could add to the problem with tap ) I don't think nitrates go up real fast (like 0 to 60) with out a spike in ammonia and nitrites first so I would retest the water even bring it to a LFS for testing to compare readings. Somthing else may be causing you fish to die off I don't think they "go mental " that actually sounds to me like they came across electrical current.IMO

I ahd to put the r/o on as i used wot i had top fill a fish only setup, taken out all fish, shrimps are doing ok.. left r/o on al nite, manged to change maybe 10%, then had to go to work, doing rest at 16:00 when i get back home, hopefully i salvaged most.. will keep you posted.. i nva realised how gutting this would be, the money is no concern, its the little buggers inside the tank i feel sorry for.. :/
