At my lfs the other day i saw some emerald eye rasboras i have never seen any before they were so pretty i ended up buying 4,problem is when i came home i tried finding a little bit of info on them but couldnt find nothing.I did check on compatability at the fish store and they seem to have settled in nicely but other than that i dont know much about them :dunno:

There aren't any bad tempered Rasboras, they are a sublimely peaceful group of fish, my favourites in fact. Rasbora dorsiocellata, (Emerald Eye), is a totally harmless fish and a joy to keep.

Undemanding, will adapt to most water conditions, prefer a acidic/neutral and soft water, but this is not critical. Eat pretty much anything, so a regular varied diet suits well.

As with many Rasboras, they are very choosy about their breeding conditions. They need to be well conditioned with good food for a few weeks before attempting a spawning. Soft acidic water is a must, but VERY clean, they don't take pollution well, they may spawn, but the fry don't survive.

A highly desirable little fish.
