Ember Tetra

I went to LFS to pick up some ember tetras as I saw for the first time ever they had some in.

After telling the girl what I wanted I browsed the shop... came back 5 mins later and she said,
"all of them died except 2"



Sounds very strange to me. Does this type of tetra "play dead"? I did a quick iphone search at the store and found that one guy had his embers play dead every time he did w/c.

And even if they were playing dead, she successfully killed them all off by taking them out of water and leaving them.

Yeah it's VERY strange... so weird..

When I saw them they were all swimming around very happily, and to suddenly just be dead.. never even heard of that.

I didn't even think they were playing dead at first (didn't know any fish at all did that) but my iphone search made me think maybe...


EDIT: Mysteriously enough... when I went back there were 5 seemingly "revived" embers as she said she had only put back 2 (but I watched her put some "dead" ones in there and forget to take them out).

I decided to get the 5 and fingers crossed they get more in as I really would like at least 10.
