I had just added a stingray filter into my female betta community. I had a sponge filter but i found that it wasn't able to control the waste. How can i slow the flow from the new filter.

throw it in the bin

theyre ####e, dont filter very well, and fish get wedged behind it

Hi
I know quite a few people who use stingrays in their betta tanks. Not knowing exactly how they work i cant comment on ways to slow it down. Maybe get some tall silk plants or a piece of bog wood to place in front of it? If nothing else, it may break the flow up a bit.

i am not familar with that kind is it a hang over the back one?
in mine i have the normal filter stuff in it, procline bio sponge and floss, then i take a longe filter pad and drape it over the water fall so that the water exiting the filter flows threw the spomnge pad instead of the rough waterfall effect.. just a idea

I put a piece of the plastic mesh in front in a semi circle to slow the flow and turn it to the glass, that also stops the fish swimming behind it, I also take out the carbon and put filter medium in. With only having small filter they need cleaning quite often by rinsing them in some of the tank water you syphon out when doing water changes.

I'll have to try different ways of slowing it down. I might have to scrape some money together to buy a new slightly better filter

i had one in my betta tank... what i did to reduce the flow was turn the top round to point at the glass and plant the tank.

I also removed the carbon bits and added more sponges inside which slowed the water flow a bit as well.
