There is a picture of him/her in my profile. Feel free to look.

Wouldn't recommend adding just one as they are aggressive with each other. Combined with the fact yours has been kept alone for quite some time, I don't think it would be the best move to make.

They are better in groups if you are going to keep more than one so that the aggression is spread out a little. Need a good sized tank though for that.

As for sexing, its not possible I don't think.

When I got an elephant nose fish he was a right bully, and IMO definately best to be kept on their own.

You could always introduce them to each other and see how it goes. They could get along fine and if not you can just separate them again.

Hi,
thanks for the suggestion. However, mine doesn't seem to bully. If anything he is bullied by the 5x Green barbs.
Thanks

Hi,

I bought a pair of St Peter's Elephantnose (I think they are great fish) and they were fine together. However, one died so I decided to get another. Although the newcomer was bigger, the resident went nuts and harrassed it mercilessly and also started on the Corys I have. I tolerated this for a few days then convinced the LFS to take it back. It seems they're OK if raised together but intolerant of newcomers.

A friend of mine also kept Elephantnose and he said that groups of 5+ were OK. Their is normally an 'alpha' fish and any aggression was spread out. I've found Discus to be the same.

My elephant nose is ok with my two corys though he does chase them away sometimes, when they go near his bogwood.
