Fish Fanatic
I have a very young female green betta who was given to me (a cull, she's not green but dark blue, but beautiful nonetheless). Having several males already, I put her into a big bowl, expecting her to be happy, and she wasn't. She acted depressed, and sulked in her bowl, wouldn't eat. Poor thing. It was suggested she might be lonely, since she'd previously been with her sisters in a tank. Well, the closest thing I had is the guppy tank in the living room (also catfish, placo, and ottos). I figured, hey! they're similar in size, shape, and color... Well, that's what Eleni (betta) thought, too, and now she thinks SHE'S a guppy! She swims with them, plays with them, refuses her pellet food, but eats the guppy flakes... It's really rather amusing. Occasionally I'll catch her pretending to be a catfish, too, and pecking at the bottom while making zooming swims to the top of the tank. The guppies have accepted her as one of the crew, too. It's really funny, and awful cute.
