My fish room is currently running three tanks a 10g, a 50g and a 20g. I am wondering weather I can safely add another 30g tank that will be deicated to a Gibbiceps and Kissing Gourami soly. I have one double UK plug socket in the room that runs 3 filtes, 2 heater, an air pump, a TV, a playstation and a table lamp. Obviously the new tank would only have a filter and heater. Is it possible seeing as they are all run of one plug socket to an extension and so on to the tanks with other extensions. If it isn't possible, can I install more electricity somehow?

Thanks :)

I don't see a problem, I have 5 powerheads, 300 watt of metal halides, 150 watt of t5 tubes, 2 sump pumps, 1 skimmer pump, one rowaphos reactor pump, 2 x 300 watt heaters and 3 flourecent tubes all running of a double socket under my reef. I don't know wether this is entirly safe as ther will be max wattage per plug bar but I think I'm under

ste :)

Ok thanks, looks like it is possible then. I can always leave of a few plugs like the light TV and playstation when I am not using them.

Cheers :)

A standard UK mains socket can deliver up to 13 Amps safely, that amounts to 3,250 Watts - that's a lot, believe me! You're nowhere near that.

Thanks I just needed abit of reasuring as electricity can be pretty dangerous.

Cheers it has helped alot.
