I have a gravel filter for manually siphoning water from the tank to my bucket but wondered if anyone knew of maybe a pump that I could buy for siphoning water from prepared water back to my tank for when I do water changes?

I live in England also, my tank is only 140litres as well.

thanks

just use some pipe as a siphon, it maybe slow but dont cost much

for that size tank, I'd just make do with a 10L or similar size bucket. 2-4 of those and your weekly water changes are done, it's what I used to do on my 125L.

hi guys, i got the siphoning pipe for siphoning off the old water/dirty for when i'm doing my gravel clean, but i think thats not a bad idea using just a bucket and do 40litre change just scooping water out and back in.

For waterchanges I use a 33 litre beer making bucket (food grade plastic so safe for fish use) to prepare the water, then use one of these pumps:

http://www.allpondsolutions.co.uk/aquarium-1/aquarium-equipment/aquarium-pumps/1000-l-h-submersible-water-aquarium-pump.html

to pump the water into the tank via a length of clear PVC tube from B+Q hung over the edge of the tank. No risk of spillage from using 10 litre containers to pour it in (tried this, never again! lol), and a nice gentle flow so can sit back with a cup of tea for 5 mins while it fills the tank back up.

just bought one of those pumps, ty :) easier than manually lifting water back into tank.

I connected a piece of hosepipe to a powerhead. I actually made a little tutorial, the link is in my sig.

I just take off the shower head and run a hose straight to the tank... I can do 50% water change on a 55, 20, and 15 in under an hour easily lol.
