My son thinks he got a shock when he put his hand in my tank earlier??? my fish are all fine - what would cause it????? OR is he being dramatic

being dramatic

To be safe turn off your stuff in the tank and check then out for and crack in the heater warn cords etc....

if all is fine turn back on and get you son to stick his hand in and found out.

buy a surge plug and fit it to the power board.

It is actually quite possible...
I get a shock off of our 350L if I have my arm in the water and touch the light reflectors with my arm...
I only notice it if I touch it with a sensative bit (eg underside of my arm when I'm in upto my upper arm!)

Its a scientific anomily called "Stray voltage"

hahaha, we have an electric cat, at the fish store i work at. it can not u off the stool!!! hehe
its actually kinda fun...... :shifty: :shifty: :shifty: :hyper: :hyper:
lol
rugby

also, if its just a one-time occurance, then it could just be static build-up. ;) my tank gave me a bit of a scare yesterday when i got shocked but after trying (several times) to replicate it, i decided that it was just a static discharge
