He is growing out in a 20 gallon with some ember tetra and cories, until he is big enough for the 90 gal. I saw him a few hours ago just sitting in the bottom of the tank. I did a 60% WC but there was no change in him. I have had him about a week and a half.

Waiting on water tests.

Ammonia and nitrite both @ 0 and the nitrate is at about 10 ppm.

He can swim, but doesn't like to. Didn't react like usual when I came up to the tank. I can move him to a 5.5 to treat him if needed.

I added Prime and Stability just in case, but I also have stress guard and aquarium salt if necessary.

He is opening his mouth more than usual and flapping his fins a bit as well.

Are they eating? If you’ve only had them less than two weeks it could be some kind of parasite

I'm not really upto date on what the best meds are at the moment. I hear good things about Esha brand though.

I think the timing of him being in the tank a few weeks makes it a contender for parasite or bacteria to have been kept at bay in salted/medicated breeders/wholesalers/LFS tanks and then develop into an issue once you get them home.

Then I will try salt tonight and add an airstone.

Its probably worth mentioning too that when EBJD where first introduced to the hobby they were mass bred and some weak strains came into being with a number of fish being kept in perfect conditions not making it past 12 months. Yours does look otherwise healthy so I think it is an illness rather than genetic though but just wanted to give you a heads up.

Unfortunately, he was dead before the pet store even opened this morning. This is the worst. I had just started to get attached too...
