I saw some of these at Wal-Mart and they look pretty groovey. I think I would like to get some. I did some research and found a site that said they like cooler water and were best in unheated tanks. Is this true? Could I put them in with my Clown Loaches and Glass Fish? Is it ok to just get one?

I wouldn't reccomend them with bottom dwelling fish. I have a crayfish, and had to remove her from my community tank, because she decided that my plecostomus might make a really good meal. :(

In short, they might be fine, for now, but ultimately something will come into it's path and lobsters/crayfish are omnivorous and will eat anything. I wouldn't risk it, and it is a risk...from personal experience. Honestly, when I removed my cray from the tank, the whole thing calmed down. I think she was the source of a lot of stress in the tank.

I would generally only advise them to be kept in the tank alone on their own, they make good pets though, putting tank mates with them is generally a risk from what i've seen as they are predatory critters by nature.
