My Electric blue acara has laid eggs on a pebble. I have plenty other fish in the aquarium that will probably eat the fry. I f I take the pebble and eggs out to another tank will a sponge filter and water from existing tank be enough? And once they hatch what to feed them. I'm new to this hobby as this is my first aquarium since October.

Is there a pair of Blue Acaras in the tank or just a female? Assuming it's a pair and the eggs are fertilized (somewhat translucent and not solid white) do you have the tank space, equipment, and means to raise a large brood of cichlids? The preferred first food is baby brine shrimp which you hatch yourself. Given your situation and experience, if these eggs hatch I'd just let the tank residents enjoy an extra meal. BTW, how big is the tank and what are the other tankmates?

If the eggs are fertilized safe and end up to hatch, you will need 3 tanks, minimum to be able to bring frys to teenagers. (150 to 250) and more per load.

In a simple community, put as much cover (plants) as you can and let nature take course. Even if they might eat their own fry, You will be surprised on how much will try to join the rank soon.

You cannot really put back juveniles in the tank after separation. This will lead to fighting.

If the eggs are good they will take care of them diligently by cleaning them and fanning fresh water on them.
