Electric Blue Acara causing trouble?

My LFS also said they would take the acara and tetras, and could offer store credit if they are healthy. Would it be wrong of me to take the acara and tetras to the store, since everything else in my tank is scaleless and can’t be treated? Should I tell them they have roundworms?

Just went in to check on my 55 gallon tank before bed, and there’s a half eaten tetra on the substrate. I watched the tank for a long time today and yesterday, and nothing really looked off, except one tetra acting a little more skittish than the others. I did my second dose of Levamisole for the roundworms today. Is it likely he died and then was eaten, or do you think it was the acara? I am now down to 10 bloodfins. All the other fish are just acting like they usually do after lights out, except the acara looks like a little evil lol. I did a treatment of levamisole two weeks ago, did a second one today, and planned to do a third next week, just to be cautious. I don’t want him eating more of the tetras, Can I just take them to my LFS like day after tomorrow or something? How important is that third treatment?

I would never keep Acaras with Tetras. All large Cichlids should be kept with Cichlids
He is an electric blue acara, which only get about 4 inches. I did a lot of research and everything seemed to suggest they were typically peaceful and did great with larger tetras. Clearly this is not the case with this guy, so I am fixing my mistake. My LFS will take him and the tetras back. I just need to know when I can take him back without worrying about them still having roundworms?

I think I’m going to make a new thread to figure out when I can take them to the LFS, as this one is both long and about a different topic and I don’t think I will get many answers here.

do a big water change 24 hours after treating them for worms. wait another 24 hours then take the fish to the shop.

Thank you for your help! I took the fish today. I wasn’t sure how much store credit they would give me, but the lady gave me $23for the acara and 10 bloodfin tetras. They are now off at the fish store and she said she thought they looked gorgeous
