Ehiem Aquaball

WELL. I'VE HAD ONE IN MY QUARANTINE TANK AND IT WORKS WELL, BUT SEEMS TO GET CLOGGED UP QUICKLY.

Maybe you can look into hang on the back filters. They seem to be more efficient, IMO.

I have an Aquaball 2212 in my 125 litre. I find it excellent. I have sponges in the baskets and substrat pro in the box at the top. I have had no problems with it clogging. The sponge in the bottom basket does get dirty quite quickly, but the design of the baskets makes it easy to 'click' it off to clean.

Agreed - I don't have any problems with the 2212 I have (and it was bought 2nd hand from another forum member).
I find it very effective, easy to maintain & of good design/build quality - as you would expect from Eheim

Alternatively, you could look at a Fluval FX internal filter - I have one of these in one of my other tanks and am also very impressed with it. Similarly priced, good build but personally I find the design of the Eheim more attractive
