Ehiem 2026 Still Not Quieting Down!

Hi

Im still gettin noise issues with a 2026 filter ive had about 5 days I called an aquatics place who handles the service for eheim in the UK and he was constantly makeing out it was me incorrectly primeing the unit and thats why I have noise!

He said put the motor head under water upside down to cheak if the impella makes a noise? HUH!

Anyway 5 days in its quietend down a little but no were near as quiet as my tetra I can still hear like a low fan like noise from the unit when kneeling near it!

At £100 for a filter you shud expect not even a pin drop from it!

Please tell me this is a bad unit or have i blown £100 on a over hyped product when I could of got a bigger tetra for half the price!

mate i have a 2213 and mine did that. check the impeller section. my shaft was broken and was rattling around. hope that helps.

I have the Eheim 2028 which is the larger model and its silent all the time. The only time it does make nosie is if there is air in the impellor, once thats moves its silent again.

havent read all the things you have tried, buthave you triedrunning with the pump at weird angles? just to give us an idea and narrow down what the prob may be. 45degree in each direction for a minute or so, even upsidedown.

Hi Carl,

It might not be the impeller or shaft that is causing the noise. If your unit is 5 year old and you still have the white indicator ball, this part can start rattling inside the indicator cage and cause a anoying rattling noise. Remove the ball and see if this solves the Problem.

And your sure the intake is completly submerged with no air entering it atall yeh?

EHEIm units are extemely quiet, Units are only noisy if the are not primed properly, or if (as mentionedby other members) the impeller or shaft assembly are broken. Is the filter pushing any water?

The filter is pushing water fine its not a loud noise just a laptop fan like sound. I cheaked the impella and everything seems to be fine only thing I have noticed is the magnet has some tiny chips on its sharp edge but there very tiny!
