Hi Folks

Tank is 52"x24"x24" which makes it 111g. In the tank at the moment is two fully grown Oscars and a 8" Plec.
The current filter setup is an Eheim 2028 Pro II, Fluval 304 external and a Fluval 4+ internal.

I'm looking to swap out the Fluval 304 external as its a pain to get started again when it comes maintenance time. The Eheim on the other hand is a breeze. So I'm looking to swap the Fluval for a second Eheim 2028 Pro II @ £120 (with media) or possibly get a Eheim 2229 wet/dry filter @ £170.

Is the wet/dry system worth the extra £50 over the Pro II and does this system work. What are peoples opinons on these two filters and my proposed filter setup, am I going overkill with two filters rated at 132g each?!?! Final question, does anyone have any other suggestions for a suitable replacement external filter.

thanks all

I wouldn't bother with the Eheim Wet/Dry filters. They are a true pain to set up properly. Stick with the more classic designs for far esier operation and better peace of mind for you.

Thanks Andy

Thought this could have been the case so I'll stick with what I know.

P.S. Awesome fish in your Sig. Can you PM me what it is, cheers

I agree. I was given a "wet and dry" to trial when they were new, I had some trouble with it, which is unheard of with decent Eheim gear, (the ECCO models are "economy" Eheim gear and in my opinion, a mistake). I am also used to silent operation, the w & d was not.
