New to canister filters. Decided it was time to clean the filter. Used tank water and ensured impeller was clean. Also changed filter floss. Flow doesn't seem as good and 48 hours later the water just seems to be getting cloudier. I have no clue what's gone wrong. As I have quite a powerful bubbler to oxygenate, should I turn the spray bar to point down slightly?? Water was crystal clear before I did the maintenance

Hi, I am not sure what you mean by filter floss. The filter has a fine filter pad. Did you use an OEM filter pad? I would suspect that might be your problem since filter floss could clog up really easily.

It has this feature in case the filter pad get clogged over time:
.... improved the technology by incorporating the new ‘Xtender’ button.
In the event the output is reduced due to the fine filter media blocking, the button can be adjusted to redirect the flow. The biological filtration is main-tained and the service interval can be extended by a few days.

Is the last basket activated carbon ? If you have followed this stacking method...

You can:
Remove the carbon in the last basket.
Lower both ceramic baskets one rank.
Put a coarse or medium sponge in the basket right under the fine filter pad.

When the bypass is in use, sure it helps with the flow of water, but it also gets your bio filtration media dirty a lot faster.

So inserting a sponge in front of it will help a lot on that front.
