Are these really worth the money? Been looking around for a new filter and seen one of these used, working, but cheap. Are they any good?.

I have a 2324 in my 180 litre planted tank. Expensive to set up.. otherwise, fantastic. So to answer your questions...

Yes, they are worth the money.

and Yes they are good.

The cheaper alternative i would recommend is the tetratec range e.g. ex700 combined with a visitherm heater (or a hydor external if you want stuff out of the tank)

Eheims are worth the money and actually built in the country of their original distributor unlike probably most of the rest of them (I think Rena is built in France though???). Germany isn't exactly known for crappy products and deservedly so.

That said, you could go with something cheaper built in China but you'll get what you paid for.
