:D Happy Boy today as i have just recieved my 2213 for the bargin price of £31.60 from pets24.
So now for the questions!

The unit has arrived with all items including tubes, spraybar etc although i think that i need some form of media due to the fact that i only have 3 pads. 1 carbon, 1 fine and 1 coarse so am i right in thinking that i now need to obtain some other form of media to fill the void?
My tank is a 3ft 127l or 28uk gal and i am aiming for a planted rather than heavy livestock, i am also running 2x hagen CO2 units which appear to be working very well with my plants producing nice little bubbles!!!

So any advice on what media to add ? i believe that you can obtain eheim products for this job but my lfs tend to sell fluval versions.

Thank you for any advice and if i have left any information out i am very sorry but i'm currently having my mind bashed on a conf call at work :(

I would add some ehfi mech and ehfi substate, keeping a filter pad between them. About a litre of both should be enough.

if you're going to go with eheim filter media, be ready to pay a shocking amount...I think for the full package it's like $35...good luck

I opted for the fluval media in the end, pre filter and biomax. good choice ?? will this be ok to run with or does anybody forsee problems ahead?

Also can you get taps for the eheim?

Just got to sort out the harmonics now as my wife is saying "it's too loud". the filter is not in a unit at the moment so i may have to look at building some form of box for it :/

Taps for the eheim is about $20 canadian, for both, at least around here. The media should be ok. About the noise, the 2213 should be completely silent, a very very slight hum if anything but even still, I have the 2215 and 2213 and I have to tried hard to hear them

I have checked the noise level this morning and it is actually a slight hum which is not enough to notice unless you are my wfie with her super hearing! (not so good when i'm telling her something)
As a result of the noise reducing i have told my wife that i have "turned the output down" ;)

I may have another look at it tonight though to ensure that i have set everything up right and i'll get looking for the taps.
